OUPV Six-Pack

Online • NMC Approved

An Operator of Uninspected Vessel (OUPV) license allows it holder to operate vessels less than 100 Gross Tons and carry up to six passengers-for-hire. This license is commonly referred to as a “six-pack license.” For professionals, this is an excellent license for anyone starting or advancing a maritime career and is common among fishing guides, charter captains, and water taxis. 

100 Ton

A Master license allows you to operate inspected vessels Is it time to upgrade your OUPV license to 100 Ton Masters License? A 100 Ton Master license allows you to operate inspected vessels up to 100 gross tons and/or carry more than six passengers-for-hire. Inspected vessels are inspected by the U.S. Coast Guard and are issued a certificate of inspection. Common examples of these vessels are passengers (e.g. ferries), off-shore supply, towing, and sea school vessels.

200 Ton

This course allows you to upgrade your OUPV license to a Mate license on vessel’s up to 200 Ton. Your sea time and vessel experience will determine the scope of your mate license. If you have time on a vessel over 67 gross tons, it is time to upgrade to Mate 200 Ton. Why? It is an easy way to get your 200 Ton Master license. This course will get you a Mates Endorsement up to 200 Tons, based on your sea service and our 70 question exam. 

Able Seaman w/ Lifeboatman

Don’t let your maritime career stall while waiting for in-person classes! This is the most efficient, NMC-approved path to securing your Able Seaman with Lifeboatman Limited credential. An Able Seaman is a credentialed seaman which falls below officer but above ordinary seaman. Credentialed Able Seaman may fill roles such as a watch-stander, leader in the deck department, or numerous other responsibilities.

Lifeboatman

Lifeboatman Limited is required to get your Able Seaman credentials. As an Able Seaman, you will be part of a team responsible for responding to emergencies. During these emergencies, you may be called on to operate rescue craft, lead others during an abandon ship, or numerous other actions. This course provides you with the fundamentals to effectively carry out these duties.

Navigation Rules of the Road

Navigation Rules of the Road is an in-depth review of the COLREGS for International and Inland Navigation rules. USCG credentialing Rules of the Road exam is one of the most feared exams, but it does not have to be as Pathfinder Maritime Training has developed a course with 98% passage rate. We teach the course with a clear explanation of the rules, easy to understand examples and mnemonics.

Assistance Tow

The Assistance Tow endorsement is a provision added to a Master license and is designed for boat captains who tow vessels for a fee. To provide assistance towing, captains are legally required to hold an Assistance Tow endorsement. If you tow a vessel for a fee (i.e. commercially tow) without an endorsement, you are subject to fines and other penalties.

Master Increase in Scope

This course is designed for mariners who hold a Master Inland/Great Lakes credential and want to increase the scope of their credential to Near Coastal waters. In other words, completing this course will allow Inland/Great Lakes captains to operate on Near Coastal waters. This course is approved by the National Maritime Center (NMC), and its NMC course code is PATHFR-291.
