An Able Seaman (AB) is a credentialed member of the deck department on a merchant vessel. An AB may serve as a watch stander, helmsman, a deck worker, or a combination of these roles. This course meets the classroom training requirements. In addition to this course, you will need to take the knot tying assessment and lifeboatman course to earn your AB rating .
The course is divided into modules which can be completed in any order. Once you complete all presentations and quizzes, you are eligible to sit for the final exams.
