July 2022 – Recently, 22 members of Coast Guard Miami’s Safety and Security Team (MSST) recently enrolled in Pathfinder Maritime’s (PMT) captain’s licensing course and are on track to earn their commercial licenses. The training course was sponsored by the Coast Guard Foundation, a national non-profit organization committed to the health and well-being of all Coast Guard members and their families, including professional development opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
“The PMT team loves working with Coast Guard units and helping their members earn professional licenses,” said Capt. Carsey, PMT’s founder. “The CG Foundation is great to work with, and their efforts provide career development opportunities for Coasties everywhere.”
When asked about the opportunity to earn a commercial Captain’s license, BM2 Kirstye Sorensen, the course organizer, said “Our unit is grateful for the CG Foundation’s generous sponsorship, and given our unit’s hectic travel, Pathfinder’s online courses made earning a license achievable.”

PMT is a commercial, maritime training company with a mission to simplify the commercial licensing process. PMT strives to provide unbeatable student support and the highest quality training possible, making earning a license achievable for mariners of all experience levels.
