This course is for Lifeboatman Limited to vessels without lifeboats. If lifeboats are involved then the proficiency in survival craft class is required.
Throughout this course, you will learn to:
- Take charge of a rescue boat, life raft, or other rescue craft
- Operate life saving apparatus during and after launch
- Launch and safely recover rescue craft
- Operate rescue boat engines
- Use locating and communication devices
Lifeboatman practical requirements can be satisfied by using the National Limited Lifeboatman Practical Form. This form was developed following the National Lifeboatman requirements & is not a proficiency in Survival Craft checklist.
